ABOUT US

Haven Veterinary Services exists to support safe community spaces where people and animals thrive- together. HVS provides evidence-based services and recommendations to nonprofit and public animal shelters, rescues, organizations working to support access to veterinary care, university-based programs, and other organizations engaged in animal welfare work.

OUR SERVICES

AMBULATORY SHELTER AND RESCUE MEDICINE SERVICES

We offer “housecalls” in the Greater Vancouver area for shelters, rescues, and foster homes. We can help with outpatient veterinary care, population health optimization, low-stress handling and behaviour support, end-of-life care, and more! We also offer telemedicine appointments (where appropriate) for organizations within British Columbia.

CONSULTING SERVICES

We provide local on-site support and virtual remote consultations in outbreak management, shelter capacity, facility design, population management, infectious disease prevention, community-based programming, and more. We also offer training for shelter teams and remote training and mentorship support for shelter veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other team members.

RESEARCH AND TEACHING

We love teaching and can collaborate with you to build online learning content and instruction in both live and asynchronous formats. We are passionate about research collaboration in shelter medicine, companion animal infectious disease, animal welfare epidemiology, and access to care.
